I'm Nathan, a graphic designer and educator based in Melbourne creating brands and campaigns that actually work.
I've spent my career working across agencies, running my own creative ventures, and teaching the next generation of designers at Shillington. Whether it's repositioning a TAFE as aspirational, launching premium sub-brands for major retailers, or designing nostalgic identities that break category conventions, I focus on strategic thinking that drives real results.
These days, I split my time between mentoring creatives and taking on projects that challenge assumptions and solve genuine problems. I believe great design happens when you dig deeper than the brief and find the story that actually needs telling.
In the famous words of Rihanna — “Where have you been all my life?”
Honestly, I’m not sure. But here’s a list of where I’ve worked
-
I led the transformation of Shillington’s graphic design course into a fully digital, remote learning experience, building custom systems, curriculum, and platforms from the ground up. I also trained and mentored teachers globally, delivered high-impact feedback, and created tools to keep creativity and connection alive online.
-
As a senior designer and art director, I worked across branding, campaigns, and packaging for national clients including Monarch, Energy Safe Victoria, and TCL. I led shoots, developed guidelines, and shaped design systems that balanced craft, clarity, and commercial goals.
-
I was the sole designer across eight locations during a full brand transition, creating everything from menus and POS to campaign visuals and photoshoots. I also reimagined the brand in a speculative project, exploring how Fridays could feel bold, fun, and craveable again through a refreshed visual language.
-
I co-owned and redesigned Sticker Collective, transforming it from a casual print shop into a research-led design business focused on niche communities. I developed an audience quadrant system, automated fulfillment, and scaled sales through targeted design strategy and cultural fluency.
-
At HBK, I contributed to branding and print design projects for clients such as Biggin & Scott Land, Cabot’s, and Dulux. My responsibilities included developing marketing collateral, signage, and visual identities, collaborating closely with senior creatives to produce cohesive and effective print materials.
